"The Good Life" — striving for balance and health in mind, body, and spirit.
Cultural activities help guide the healing practices of the Bad River people.
Bad River Harm Reduction takes pride in offering assistance to clients through traditional cultural practices. On any given day, you may walk into the building and experience the scent of traditional medicines being burned, witness food and/or tobacco offerings, read writings in Ojibwe Language on the walls or hear songs being shared throughout the hallways. You may even be invited to participate in our weekly healing circles, or in our monthly sweat lodge ceremonies. Our weekly healing circles are led by local elder Biiwaase and our monthly sweats are led by local spiritual leader Bizhikiins. These culture-based activities are deeply embedded in the local community and provide a safe space for individuals to talk about and share their lived experiences without the need for explanation or justification of feelings.
